Can you take your cat camping with you?

I think camping with a cat is one of the more difficult adventures

Welcome to issue #6 of Chumka’s Weekly!

Hello there furriend and happy Caturday! So I am trying out a bit different than usual newsletter “design” - let me know if you liked it! 💛💛

Camping with your cat(s)

When it comes to bringing Chumka camping with us, I get overwhelmed if I start preparing without any “game plan”. There is a lot to plan at first – but once you do it, each times gets easier.

Majority of the prep happens before you even plan the trip. You want to make sure that your cat is harness and leash trained, and that he is comfortable exploring outdoors. Once your cat is trained and you know how your cat react to certain stimuli/ situations, you can start getting ready to camp!

Some of the things to take into account: weather, wildlife, campsite rules, litterbox use, food to give to your cat, etc…

Did you know…

Cats have a slightly wider visual field of 200 degrees compared to the average human visual field of 180 degrees.

The average human has a visual acuity of 20/20. A cat's visual acuity is anywhere from 20/100 to 20/200, which means a cat has to be at 20 feet to see what an average human can see at 100 or 200 feet.

Some cool finds from the internet…

Check out this ADORABLE article about how a shelter posted on social media that its "camera broke" so the staff had to draw the animals. It posted sketches of a dog, a cat, and two bunnies 😍🙈
